Job Description:
Lontours a division of The Globus family of brands is expanding our presence in the fast growing Travel Market. With over 80 years of experience, our company continues to present new products for the leisure traveler, and reach them through multiple sales channels. The ideal candidate will meet all, or a majority of the following criteria: Must have an entrepreneurial spirit with a demonstrated history of success in travel sales. "Sales Closer" vs. "Account Servicer" preferred. 5 years of travel industry or direct travel sales. Strong Analytical skills to measure and monitor territory performance and ability to impact the bottom line. Dynamic presentations skills. PC Technology system skills. Excellent oral and written skills Effective negotiation skills Ability to travel up to 60%.

THE ROLE A Business Development Manager identifies potential business opportunities, generates new sales for the organization, and cultivates existing top and medium producing accounts.

THE POSITION The Business Development Manager is responsible for the following results: • Generating and increasing sales within assigned territories • Prospecting and developing group business • Implementing Sales & Marketing plan according to the brands, products and partners • Monitoring competition • Recommending changes in products, services, and policy • Achieving established financial objectives, including managing a budget for the territory

EDUCATION The preferred candidate will hold a degree from a travel industry college or university (B. A.); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas: • Developing new business • Managing sales accounts (knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and tools). • Working with the current mix of leisure travel products (e.g., Globus, Monograms, Avalon and Cosmos products, services, policies, features, and benefits, or those of a competitor) • Having “bottom line” accountability • Presenting easily and effectively to make the sale and educate business partners

The preferred candidate knows how to: • Be a self starter and display initiative • Understand the market through the use of a variety of means • Listen and understand consumers’ and customers’ needs • Develop and implement marketing and promotion plans, sales plans, account management plans, and project plans • Contribute to a team effort • Accomplish desired results • Identify and continuously improve key business processes

NOTE:

While performing this job, it will require: Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports. Valid driver’s license required. Dress code as per Sales Policy Manual. This position will require extensive travel within the territory and to other assignments.
