| A Major utilities company is looking for a lead-hand in their mechanical maintenance department & plant operations. You’ll be providing training & technical advice to trades-people and operational staff in the mechanical installation, maintenance and repair of prime generation & auxiliary equipment. You will be responsible for all plant operations.
You’ll also be assisting the development of budgets and training systems as necessary. Acting as a source of guidance to all staff, you will schedule crews and preventative maintenance – ultimately ensuring optimal efficiency of all equipment.
This position will involve some degree of travel as you visit sites to inspect & ensure procedures are effective.
The ideal candidate will bring a mechanical or millwrighting background with some exposure to the electrical utilities industry. You must have strong leadership skills and be prepared to accept the responsibility of maintaining optimal equipment standards – this may involve some on-call work or exposure to inclement weather conditions. Strong organizational and administrative skills are also required with effective interpersonal & conflict resolution abilities.
