We currently seek a: District Manager- Northern Saskatchewan This position will be responsible for professionally representing Becker Underwood in assigned territory by identifying and developing all marketplace opportunities to maximize sales and profitability. Approximately 70% travel will be required to successfully execute the responsibilities of the position.

Principal Accountabilities

Operations 
- Understand and effectively utilize the Becker Underwood Selling System, focusing on identifying and satisfying customer needs. 
- Understand, implement and execute all aspects of the sales and marketing plans initiatives, including multi-brand strategy so as to achieve targeted objectives for BU products and services within defined target markets. 
- Maintain and further develop existing customer base. 
- Develop new profitable customer accounts. 
- Attend trade shows to support current customers and influence potential new customers to do business with BU. 
- Attend to all customer requested needs in a timely manner to ensure highest possible customer satisfaction. 
- Maintain a customer base of sales and management data within the approved Becker Underwood system. 
- Establish and maintain in-depth knowledge and files of the businesses of customers, competitors and their products. 
- Product Stewardship - Attend to customer product inquiries timely and in such a manner that leads to a satisfied customer, if possible. 
- Other duties as assigned. 
- These duties will account for approximately 80% of overall duties.

Financial 
- Manage the territory controllable expenses such as not to exceed budgeted dollars by account. 
- Diligently work to keep all accounts receivables current. 
- These duties will account for approximately 10% of overall duties.

Market intelligence, Market planning and reporting 
- Identify, record and report short, medium and long-term trends in the marketplace that may impact BU’s business to the Director of Sales - Canada. 
- Identify the specific product needs of the marketplace and report them to the Director of Sales - Canada. 
- Prepare product needs forecasts as directed. 
- Prepare a formal monthly report of pertinent activities for the district using the approved information template. 
-Maintain daily contact with the Director of Sales - Canada. 
- These duties will account for approximately 10% of the overall duties.

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Agriculture Business or related field and 3-5 years experience as an outside sales representative with demonstrable district management success is required. Previous work experience in the Ag Chem Industry, Seed Industry, Turf and Ornamental and/or Biological seed treatments is preferred. The candidate must reside in the territory and have competent computer skills, excellent communication skills, detail orientation, good diplomacy and public relation skills. This post must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and is required to travel up to 70% of the time (valid Driver’s License required).
