The successful applicant will assist with canola research activities at Pioneer Hi-Bred's Research Centre located in Saskatoon. This position will run 6 to 8 months in duration, starting April 1, 2010. Duties/Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist with: - seed organization and set up. - field prepration, seeding, spraying, plot maintenance, plot evaluation, harvest, and post harvest evaluation. - monitoring sites for disease and pest infestations. - Data organization and entry. Educational Qualifications Desired Applicant should be completing or possess a Degree or Diploma in Agricultural Science or related field. Competencies and Experience Desired: Positive attitude with a desire to learn and develop new skills. Must be willing to work well with others in a team setting, work outdoors in various environments and be willing to work additional hours/weekends during peak periods. Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision and effectively lead people and projects. Individual must display a high degree of self-motivation, integrity and attention to detail. Previous research work and/or related farm work experiences preferable. Good computer skills required (experience with MS Excel an asset). Experience with farm machinery an asset. Must hold a valid class 5 driver's license.
