Job Description: | The BC Grain Producers Association Research Department in Dawson Creek, BC is seeking an individual to assist the team in conducting its field research trials for local and inter-provincial projects. This is a full-time permanent position and we offer a competitive salary with an excellent health benefit package.
Duties Include: - Seed preparation, cleaning, weighing and organizing of samples
- Field site preparation & maintenance of plots
- Assist in planting, assessments, and harvesting
- Assist in data collection, entry & analysis
- Minor equipment repairs and maintenance
- Keeping plots looking aesthetically pleasing
Qualifications: - Able to work equally well independently and in a team environment
- Tolerate normal nuisances associated with agriculture (dust, pollen, extended hours at times, etc.)
- Physically apt to operate farm machinery and work outdoors with dexterity
- Agricultural experience an asset
- Willingness to work and learn, show genuine interest in research
- Hold a valid & clean driver’s license with a willingness to obtain Class 3
- Basic computer skills
