Dow AgroSciences (DAS) is seeking a Systems Analyst to work within the Trait Product Development group. The successful candidate will collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems as well as research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade computer hardware, software, and related peripherals. They will provide training in practical and theoretical aspects of supported systems to bench scientists and other practitioners. The candidate will also help to maintain and enhance DAS Trait Product Development infrastructure by providing process automation through scripting and/or software configuration. Primary responsibilities will include: - Provide database and software support to current systems and tools through troubleshooting issues. - Provide primary hardware/software support for Microsoft Windows workstations, bar code printers and scanners, and servers in a R&D laboratory environment. - Develop relational databases containing transformation information for analysis by Trait Product Development scientists. - Proactively identify areas of interest for improvement of the information management capability across multiple business platforms and geographical locations. - Develop and deliver innovative solutions for scientific problems that will enhance the trait development process and shorten the time from discovery to market. - Communicate well with people of disparate backgrounds, level of experience and interest. - Lead the effort of generating user documentation and training materials and ensure users are adequately trained.
