HORICULTURIST

AgraPoint is a recognized leader in providing agriculture and food safety solutions to the agricultural and food processing sectors in Atlantic Canada, focusing on superior customer service, proactive solutions and innovative approaches to client needs. The company has grown from a handful of employees in 2001 to a team of over 25 spread across three offices in Nova Scotia. AgraPoint has an opening for a full-time Horticulturist based in Kentville, Nova Scotia. This position works as part of a five-person horticulture team conducting extension, applied research and offering consulting services to producers. The ideal candidate will possess:

• At least five years experience in an environment focused on knowledge transfer to the agriculture industry
• Experience working with grapes, high bush blueberries, and cranberries
• Experience in tree fruits, vegetables and/or plant pathology would be considered an asset
• M.Sc. in an appropriate discipline (preferred)
• Experience conducting applied research in a commercial research or technology environment

A proven track record developing successful relationships with government and industry associations is essential, as well as excellent organization, interpersonal, communication, time management, computer skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment. Remuneration is based on skills and experience.
