Cargill AgHorizons is the division of the company dedicated to creating value for agricultural producers, specifically grain and oilseed growers in the Prairies and Ontario. Position Overview:
The Inside Sales Representative is accountable for generating revenue for a regional team.  An Inside Sales Representative is a sales specialist who understands the value products and services Cargill provides will bring to our customers and can communicate that value to them. The Inside Sales Representative is the member of the regional team with primary responsibility for managing relationships with a targeted group of retail customers.
 
Accountabilities:
 
 

10% - Under the guidance of the Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Rep participates in the development of a customer based sales plan that defines individual sales and margin objectives.  The plan is constantly updated through weekly customer focus meetings, weekly call planning and sales logics input from the sales and other team members.
 
65% - The Inside Sales Rep achieves Sales, Gross Margin and Revenue goals through sales calls that present solutions and value propositions to Cargill customers.  These Sales calls will be conducted over the phone or in the office face to face.  To accomplish this, the incumbent has developed a comprehensive understanding of our customers' business in an assigned territory.  The Inside Sales Rep is accountable for managing the credit allocated to their customers.  Accounts receivable are managed according to established policies with no credit limit violations.
 
10% - The Inside Sales Rep actively participates in weekly customer focus team meetings and sales workshops, contributes innovative ideas for the group's benefit, and looks for new opportunities in the marketplace. The incumbent participates in developing the Marketing Team's forecast for grain, crop inputs and program offerings.
 
5% - The Inside Sales Rep is proactive in using every opportunity to increase their knowledge of the agriculture industry, their skills in agronomy, and grain marketing, and their understanding of the products and services Cargill offers in order to continuously improve the value they can bring to our customers.
 
10% - The Inside Sales Rep is a team player who supports administrative and operations staff as they pursue their specific goals. During critical times of the year, the Inside Sales Rep will assist with operational tasks as required to ensure that facilities provide superior customer service.




Skills:
Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or diploma preferably in Agriculture, Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication selling skills.
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
 
Asset:
  • Specialized knowledge of grain and crop input products.
  • Specialized knowledge of grain handling and grain quality management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an agricultural service business environment.
