Job Description: The Ontario Merchandising Manager is responsible for the trading of all commodities handled in eastern Canada as well as the warehousing income associated with those product lines. Reporting to the VP Merchandising and Transportation the incumbent will work closely with the Ontario FSG's on the sourcing of grain as well as working closely with the FSG leadership team on the vision for the future of the Ontario grain business. The successful applicant will have strong understanding of the agriculture business with preference given to those who have worked with corn markets in the past. 40% Leadership and development of merchandising team and Ontario sales team. Includes regular participation in sales and FSG meetings, PMP, KRA, and development plans for four direct reports, and day to day coaching and development. 30% Trading corn position, includes setting basis for country team, hedging of foreign exchange and futures, and selling to domestic and export customers. 20% Creation of mid and long-term visions. Includes regular review of storage plans, storage rates, drying plans and other warehousing cost for mid term. In long term it includes working with FSG managers and other Cargill leaders on vision of business such as grain marketing alternatives, knowledge base products, and asset base plans 10% P&L analysis, working closely with accounting teams to ensure accurate reflection of the business in the statements as well as managing credit risk.

Skills: Required: Proven interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills. Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety and Operations standards. Minimum 5 years experience in an agricultural service business environment.
