Show us your potential. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory affairs, this position will be based in our Guelph office. Regulatory Product Manager KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Obtains registrations of active ingredients, new end-use products and label expansions
- Reviews and interprets federal and provincial pesticide regulations concerning product registration, import/export, packaging, labeling and shipping
- Contributes technical input for product labels, advertising/promotional material to ensure compliance with federal/provincial pesticide regulations
- Responsible for negotiating the acceptance of Syngenta studies/rationales required for registration
- Responsible for the determination/negotiations of field biology, environmental, toxicology and residue study requirements
- Advises product management teams on regulatory requirements and potential issues and for the approval of final label text
- Responsible for the preparation of complete submissions which successfully pass the PMRA screen without deficiencies
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Skills & Behaviours) - Minimum M.Sc. in agronomy, ecology, chemistry, toxicology or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a regulatory position and working with PMRA
- Working knowledge of lab and field research
- Strong knowledge of Canadian agronomic practices and Syngenta and competitor crop protection products.
- Knowledge of all federal and provincial statutes, regulations and guidelines covering pesticide testing, registration and use in Canada an asset.
- Knowledge of all federal/provincial laws regulations covering emergency response involving Syngenta products an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills required for negotiating with federal regulators, competitor company representatives, external researchers and internal colleagues
- Ability to identify critical issues and determine priorities
