Cargill AgHorizons is the division of the company dedicated to creating value for agricultural producers, specifically grain and oilseed growers in the Prairies and Ontario. This division leads the industry in providing innovations in the areas of grain origination, agronomic and grain marketing consulting, and crop input supplies. Professionally trained customer focus teams work one-on-one with their producer customers, building long-term relationships-striving to understand their farming business and providing distinctive solutions, matched to their unique needs.

 
Position Overview:
The Sales Representative carries primary responsibility for sales of Cargill's products and services to farm businesses in the local market. Our customers are looking for sales representatives who understand and have a passion for farm business. An active interest in the business world and a desire to be recognized for success by peers and customers is essential.
 
Accountabilities:
 
80 % - Work one on one with farmer customers to: build productive, long-term business relationships; learn about their business; identify opportunities to help them succeed; sell grain and crop input solutions; and manage the account to the benefit of the customer and Cargill.
 
10% - Sales, marketing, and community relation's activities such as grower meetings, supplier meetings, community events, field tours, and other promotional activities.
 
10% - Work with customer database and account information and identify marketing opportunities, do territory plans and contribute to Farm Service Group sales plan.



Skills:
Required:
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or diploma preferably in Agriculture, Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication selling skills.
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
 
Asset:
  • Specialized knowledge of grain and crop input products.
  • Specialized knowledge of grain handling and grain quality management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an agricultural service business environment.
