Position Overview: The Trucking Coordinator is accountable to the Trucking Supervisor to ensure truck shipments to and from multiple locations are initiated, planned and scheduled in a timely and cost efficient manner to meet internal and external customer needs. Ensures that carriers comply with delivery service standards. Negotiates freight rates within department guidelines. Principal Accountabilities: 33% - Schedules and dispatches truck shipments for bulk products. Coordinates backhauls to minimize shipping expenses. Contacts carriers to advise of truck movements and coordinate delivery times and provide necessary information 5% - Communicates between the locations/carriers/customers resolving daily issues and recommending solutions to the everyday challenges. 12% - Negotiates bulk truck rates with carriers within the established guidelines to obtain competitive freight rates. Assists in freight rate negotiations. 10% - Monitors and reports the performances of the carriers. 11% - Prepares and maintains necessary freight documentation to send to carriers and locations. 12% - Produces month end reports for statistical analysis to track performance, identifies PONCs and takes corrective action on problems. 8% - Review and process all month end accounting reports. 6% - Backup for all accounts payable. 3% - Other items as assigned

Skills: Required: - Knowledge of the truck transportation industry in terms of industry regulations and industry standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skill in negotiating competitive rates and coordinating scheduling needs with external/internal customers.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Various computer systems, including Word, Excel, Access and electronic mail.
